Use A Drop Card To Share Your Business

So Halloween is approaching. A time for the parents to walk around with their kids as they go house to house, asking for candy.... LOL... If you are in business for yourself and find that you need to get the word out to your neighbors about what you do, a great way to promote yourself is by using drop cards. Also known as business cards. But there is a slight difference with a drop card.

A drop card is pretty much the same size as a business card but it contains less information on it.
It may just have:

                                          Busy Bee Cleaning Service
                                               Residential/Home
                                            Call For Free Estimates
                                                      xxx-xxx-xxxx

If you are at home passing candy out, you could stick one of the drop cards in with the candy that you pass out. And if you are out walking around, then just ask all the people that you come in contact with, "Hey, take this in case you know someone".... What a great way to promote your business in a fun atmosphere.. And you never know, someone may need your service.

You Must Have Faith

Did you dream of growing up, being married, starting a family, living in a nice house, driving a decent car and retiring at the job that you started working for when you were 18?

Twenty years ago that's where I was. I was married, had a family, owned a decent home, drove a decent car and planned on retiring where I was working. My how things have changed!

I'm forty something...now.  LOL. I am now a single mom. And I no longer work at the company that I planned on retiring with all those years ago. I have had my share of ups and downs... Actually, too many downs to count.

But one thing never changed. My faith! Sure, there were times when it was hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. But it was my faith that ultimately got me through.

Please know that whatever you are going through right now, it will pass. As long as you have faith and really believe, you will overcome the situation you are in. You will see the light at the end of your tunnel.

Clay's Park

With summer upon us and the kids out of school. It was time to think of something to do together that was inexpensive as well. I chose to surprise the kids and reserve a cabin at a place called "Clay's Park" in Lawrence, Ohio.

As you can see from the link, they had everything for everyone. Fishing, hiking, volleyball, basketball, putt putt, a lake with so many rides on it, indoor swimming , hot tub and sauna and even more stuff that we didn't get to look at.

There are two vehicles in our group and I am following my friend and her kids. After missing the exit we need, we turn around and just as I put my foot on my brakes, I realized that I was not stopping and my foot was all the way to the floor. Yea. My brakes went out!  (broken brake line) After pulling off to the side several times to fill it up with brake fluid, we finally made it to Clay's Park....where now it is pouring down the rain, and I mean pouring.

The campsite is only a little over an hour away from us. So what should have taken 1 1/2 hours at the most ended up taking over 2 1/2 hours. We register and then head to our beautiful but very small cabin. Since it's raining and everything is closed (even the indoor pool) we unload everything, cook out and make a fire.

I forgot just how relaxing it is to just sit and be still. My kids will even tell you I don't sit still very long. Very rare do I even watch a movie from beginning to end without getting up and doing other things.... Not sure why that is.

Making memories for my children to have and remember is what I try to do. And this was just the beginning of something that we hope to continue doing every year.

The Days Of Staying Home Are In The Past....

The kids are out of school now. And I am able to be home with them to hopefully enjoy this summer together. I have always heard that a child needs their mother to be home with them until they are at least 5 yrs old. But with a 14 yr old, I'm beginning to think it's just as important to be home now for him as well. After all, I was once a teenager myself.

Our kids seem to need us even more today than 20 years ago. And yet today it's harder for a parent to stay home and be there. So many children are left to get themselves ready and out the door to school all on their own. And many kids come home from school to an empty house until the parents come home from work. Sometimes the guilt that a parent has is enough to tear them up inside when they can't be there for their child. When most households need 2 incomes to get by.

The days of being a stay at home mom are in most part, just a memory. And it's our children that are paying for it. So, to all the parents that are able to stay home and raise their kids. I applaud you. And your children will only thank you later down the road.

Save Money In Your Monthly Budget

It seems today that so many people are looking for ways to save money in their budget. If your job has been lost or hours have been cut, saving money is crucial. No matter how bad the economy gets, you will always find a way to buy your shampoo, laundry detergent, tooth paste and so on. Your weekly, monthly, budgeted items that you need to run your household.

Places like Sam's Club and BJ's are great if you can afford all the bulk shopping. But I am finding that most people don't need nor want 6 tubes of tooth paste at once. Just sell them one and they will be back when they get low.

Wouldn't it be great if you could shop directly with Proctor & Gamble or Johnson & Johnson? Telling them that you would like to order a couple products, you want the wholesale price and delivered to your door. And yet, I have a funny feeling that those companies would not even take your call if you were to try and ask them that.

There is such a place! If you could shop directly with the manufacturer, saving up to 40% on the products because they are not sitting on store shelves and being sold by a middleman. Everything is sold individually allowing deeper discounts.

If you are interested in saving money in the shopping you are already doing, you will want to fill the form out below and we will get back with you very quickly. Your information is NOT shared with anyone else.
